Late afternoon on River Fal estuary, 27 Sept. Posted by slowoldgit

The southern half of the UK has a dry Sunday but in the north it turns wet and windy. Tonight the rain pushes southwards and tomorrow morning it moves away to leave all areas under a chilly northerly airstream. There will be showers and over the Scottish mountains some of them fall as snow. The cool theme continues on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tonight a band of wet and windy weather pushes southwards across most of the UK. Clearer skies follow it, but there will be showers in places. Windy.

Tomorrow morning rain clears from the south to leave sunny spells in all regions. There will be showers, especially in the north and around coastal counties. Over the Scottish mountains sleet or snow is possible. Temperatures below the seasonal norm and blustery winds make it feel cold.

Tuesday will be cool and showery. Later in the day there is a possibility of longer outbreaks of rain spreading southern counties.

The cool and showery theme continues on Wednesday. There will be some spells of sunshine and temperatures in the south should be a little higher than in recent days.

Chilly conditions continue on Thursday, but later in the week there are signs of it turning milder as winds return to a west or southwesterly direction. In the south it could become drier, but in the north it remains more unsettled with showers or longer periods of rain.
