The heatwave is set to continue through the coming days. Temperatures continue to rise and by the weekend there is a possibility of 37C (99F) being reached. As well as hot, it is expected to remain dry in virtually the whole of the UK with only the far north west seeing significant amounts of rain. Computer models are currently suggesting cooler conditions will return early next week.

Wednesday starts with patchy outbreaks of rain in the far north west. Elsewhere it is dry.
The vast majority of the UK has another completely dry day with long sunny periods. However, in northern and western Scotland it remains cloudier and there is an ongoing risk of light rain.
Much of the UK has heatwave conditions. Temperatures range from 18C (64F) in the far north west to maximums of close to 32C (90F) in England and Wales. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight most of the UK will be dry with long clear periods. It remains quite warm in southern and central regions. Across northern and western Scotland there could be further spells of light rain.

Heatwave but then a chance of rain?

Tomorrow the heatwave continues. Most of the UK has long sunny periods, although it remains cloudy and damp in the far north west. Warm or very warm in much of the north, with temperatures in places reaching the upper 20Cs. In southern and central Britain temperatures could reach a very hot 34C (93F).
On Friday it is a case of rinse and repeat. The whole of the UK should be dry and in the the south temperatures could reach 35C (95F).
Saturday brings more of the same. Temperatures could reach an extremely hot 36C (97F).
Computer models are suggesting Sunday could be even hotter. Values could approach 37C (99F). Could 100F be reached again? It isn't out of the question.
