Sunday starts with patchy spells of rain in much of the north and west. Central and eastern parts of England are mostly dry and bright.

Through the day the risk of light rain extends southeastwards. Nonetheless, there should be a good deal of dry weather in eastern Britain. Northern and western areas have sunny spells, but there will be showers and some could be heavy. Windy, especially in the north and west.

Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in Scotland to 16C (61) in the south west. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

14 day UK weather forecast

Issued 19th October 2021

Tomorrow brings a mix of sunny spells and showers, with the heaviest ones often in western counties. Temperatures close to the seasonal average.

Mixed outlook

During Tuesday outbreaks of rain move eastwards across the northern half of the UK. Drier conditions follow for a time, but late in the day another batch of rain could reach Northern Ireland. Southern and central regions should be mainly dry, although there could be some patchy rain in Wales and south western England. Quite mild, particularly in the south.

Forecast details for Wednesday are uncertain. At this stage it looks as though a band of rain will push southeastwards reaching Wales and central England in the afternoon. To its southeast it will be very mild and dry. It probably also turns dry in much of the north.

Through the rest of the week the weather remains changeable. Further spells of rain are likely, particularly in the north and west. The south and east probably have a reasonable amount of dry periods.
