Friday starts dry in much of the UK but it is wet in northern England and Northern Ireland. The area of rain slowly moves northwards through the day, reaching southeastern Scotland this afternoon. Another band of rain moves up from the south to affect southern and central counties of England and Wales. To the north of both bright spells develop.

Temperatures range from 13C (55F) in the north east to 21C (70F) locally in the south and west. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Changeable outlook

Sunday brings sunny spells but there will be showers. Again they could be heavy and thundery. Despite that some places miss them and have a fine day. Warm in the sun with temperatures climbing into the mid 20Cs.

The warm and showery conditions continue on Monday. The heaviest showers may be in northern and eastern Britain, but once more they will be hit and miss.

At this stage the rest of the week looks changeable. Some warm sunny periods are expected but there is likelihood of showers or longer periods of rain at times.
