Monday starts fine across the UK. Through the day there will be long sunny periods in virtually the whole of the country. The only exception is likely to be the south west where cloudier skies could bring a few showers in the afternoon. A keen easterly wind means the warmest conditions will be sheltered parts of the south and west.

Temperatures range 11C (52F) to 18C (64F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Changeable later in the week?

The settled theme continues during Wednesday and Thursday but there is likely to be more cloud generally. Eastern and north eastern counties remain cooler. Elsewhere it will be warm during the days with temperatures reaching the low 20Cs in southern and western counties. The nights remain chilly with a risk of ground frost in the north.

During Friday and the weekend there are indications of it becoming more changeable. Forecast details are uncertain but all regions could initially see showers. By Sunday the risk of rain may become more widespread and it will be turning cooler.
