Mixed outlook

The showery theme continues on Tuesday. It remains cold enough in the north for sleet or snow to fall to low levels at times.

By Wednesday a ridge of high pressure builds across southern counties. That should lead to drier conditions in England and Wales. Showers continue in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Through the rest of the week changeable weather continues. Wet and windy spells are expected to be most frequent in the north where it could be cold enough for snow at times.
