Winter 2019/20 forecast

Tomorrow morning outbreaks of rain clear eastwards in southern and central counties to leave sunny spells and scattered showers in much of the country. The exceptions are likely to be northern and western Scotland where rain continues for much of the day.

Change next week

Saturday looks showery in central and northern regions. The south probably has a dry morning but in the afternoon wet weather pushes into the south west. Through the evening it extends more widely across southern counties and winds strengthen.

On Sunday morning outbreaks of rain quickly clear from the southeastern corner. All areas then have sunny spells but there will be scattered showers in the north and west.

Next week's forecast details are uncertain. It currently looks as though Monday and Tuesday will be cool and showery in the north. The risk of longer spells of rain remains in the south. Thereafter high pressure probably begins to have more influence so the chance of drier conditions increases.
