Warmest in the south east

The weather this weekend is expected to be changeable. Eastern counties probably have a reasonable Saturday. Across the north and west showers will be widespread and heavy.

Heavy showers affect much of the country on Sunday. Central and south eastern England probably stay dry and it becomes very warm. Temperatures could reach 27C (81F).

Next week is looking quite unsettled with the likelihood of wet weather at times. Drier and brighter periods are likely too and temperatures probably remain close to the seasonal average overall. The south east could be warmer and drier for much of the period.
