Easter eggs

The rest of the Easter period will be fine in much of the UK, however a major change is expected next week. Thundery outbreaks of rain spread northwards on Wednesday and then showery conditions become established. It also turns cooler. The mixed theme probably continues into May....READ IN FULL

Sunday starts fine across most of the UK but there are patchy outbreaks of rain in the far north west. Those continue for much of the day but elsewhere it will be fine and very warm again. It could turn out to be the warmest Easter Sunday on record.

Temperatures range from 20C (68F) to 26C (78F) this afternoon in much of the UK. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Buzz

Tomorrow much of the UK has another fine and very warm day. However thundery showers develop in the south west and an odd one could extend into Wales and north western England during the afternoon. Temperatures in the sunny areas will be similar to today's.

Cooler and changeable outlook

Northern and eastern probably keep the fine weather on Tuesday. In western Britain and Northern Ireland thundery showers are likely.

During Wednesday heavy and thundery rain pushes northeastwards across much of the UK. In the south it could turn drier and brighter.

During the rest of the week a trough is expected to become established over the UK. It leads to a more changeable and cooler pattern. Some dry spells are still possible with the best of them in the south and east.
