The next few days bring a lot of fine weather and just a few showers. It becomes warm and Good Friday or Saturday should see the highest temperatures of the year so far being recorded. Things become more uncertain by Easter Sunday, however computer models now suggest the summery spell may go on next week....READ IN FULL
Wednesday is off to a murky start in much of the country and in the far north there are patchy outbreaks of rain. During the morning cloud begins to break and bright spells develop. The afternoon should bring warm sunny periods but scattered showers are likely in central and eastern England.
Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north to 20C (68F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight low cloud and patchy fog return in places. The south has a mild night but it remains cooler in the north.

Tomorrow central and eastern regions have warm sunny spells, although in the afternoon isolated showers could bubble up again. Central and western regions probably have cloudier skies. It will be warm in the sunshine.

Good Friday is looking dry and sunny in much of the country. The warmth probably extends northwards across the whole of the UK. It should be warmest day of the year so far with maximum temperatures close to 23C (73F).
The fine conditions continue in most areas on Saturday. The exception could be the north west where there is a risk of showers.
Easter Sunday is looking very promising in England and Wales with a lot of warm sunshine expected. In Scotland and Northern Ireland there could be some showery rain.
Forecast confidence for Easter Monday is low. The latest guidance from computer models suggests fine weather for most of the UK. Temperatures again widely reach or exceed 21C (70F).
Computer models were pointing towards a transition to a cooler and changeable pattern early next week. The latest data casts doubt on that scenario and suggests a reasonable chance of the warm spell continuing for a while longer.
