Sunny weather

GFS forecast chart 2

GFS, temperatures, 15:00 GMT Thu 10th January

On Friday outbreaks of rain affect the north west of the UK. Elsewhere a few brighter spells are possible, but a lot of cloud is expected and at times it could be thick enough to produce some drizzle. Temperatures in the east stay close to the seasonal average but the west becomes quite mild.

More unsettled next week

The weekend looks mixed. Through Saturday a band of rain spread southeastwards but it becomes patchier before clearing away. Windy and showery conditions follow into the north.

Further wet and windy weather moves over the northern half of the country on Sunday. Southern areas remain mainly dry but overcast. It will be mild.

Next week a more changeable spell is favoured. All regions see some rain, although the south probably continues to have a fair amount of dry weather. After a mild start temperatures trend towards the seasonal average and later on it could become cold in the north.
