The weather is looking very mixed during the next few days. In general it is expected to be wettest and windiest in the west with drier and warmer periods more frequent in the south east. Thursday starts with some showery rain in England but it is mostly are dry and mild. This morning sunny spells develop in the east but in the west of the UK wet and windy weather develops. This afternoon the area of rain extends into central Britain whilst the east remains dry but increasingly cloudy.
Maximum temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north west to a warm 22C (72F) in East Anglia. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Tonight the rain clears eastwards. During the second half of the night another band of wet weather spreads into the west and it becomes very windy with severe gales in places.
Tomorrow heavy outbreaks of rain push eastwards across most of the UK but in the south east it probably stays dry and warm for most of the time. It will be very windy, especially in the west and north where severe gales are likely.

This weekend is looking mixed as disturbances from the Atlantic try to push high pressure back into the continent.
Saturday brings wet and windy weather to much of the north and west. Central and eastern England probably have a dry and bright day, and in sunny spells it will be very warm. Temperatures in East Anglia and the south east could reach 25C (77F).
Overnight and through Sunday morning the rain clears eastwards and it is followed by brighter conditions. In the north west thicker cloud could bring further outbreaks of rain later in the day. It will be cooler than recently.

An Atlantic flow is forecast to become established next week and that brings the likelihood of rain at times to all regions. North western areas have the wettest conditions with drier periods more frequent in the south east. Temperatures probably stay close to the average for much of the time but it could be chilly in the north.
