Sunday starts dry and quite muggy in most of the UK. There are scattered showers in Scotland and during the course of the day they become heavier and spread across much of the north. There could also be a few showers in western Britain and near to the south coast this afternoon. Elsewhere it remains dry and sunny spells develop, although it is likely to be cloudier at times.
Temperatures range from 17C (63F) in the north to 25C (77F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Summer forecast overview
Tonight the showers become more scattered and slowly fade away. It will be quite muggy and humid, especially in the south.
Tomorrow a good deal of fine weather is expected, but showers continue to be a risk in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland remain cooler and cloudier with drizzle or light rain. The southern half of the country has another warm day.
On Tuesday showers pop up again but many places miss them. In sunny spells it feels pleasantly warm, however, temperatures will be lower than during recent days.
By Wednesday a ridge of high pressure topples southeastwards across the UK. That opens the gate to the Atlantic in the north, and outbreaks of rain are set to push eastwards over Northern Ireland and Scotland. Southern and central regions hang on to dry and bright conditions.
Through the rest of the week all areas have changeable weather. Drier and brighter spells are most likely in the south as high pressure tries to build from the southwest.

Next week the changeable pattern continues. All of the UK could see wet spells but there should also be drier and warmer days, especially in the south. At this time year the terms "European Monsoon" and "return of the westerlies" are used to describe a transition back to typical British summer weather.
