All of the UK has wet weather at times during the next few days. There will be drier and brighter periods too and in the south it is likely to feel quite warm.

Wednesday starts dry in the south east but much of the rest of the UK is wet. This morning heavy showery bursts of rain push eastwards across southern and central areas. Rain continues in the north and in Scotland there will be sleet and snow at times, particularly over high ground. Changes this afternoon are expected to be gradual but drier conditions should return to Northern Ireland and south western England.

Maximum temperatures range from 2C (36F) in Scotland to 13C (55F) in southern England. See the recently upgraded rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight the area of rain, sleet and snow in Scotland pushes down into northern and eastern England before slowly clearing. Elsewhere it becomes dry with quite a widespread frost in the north and west.
Tomorrow a ridge of high pressure topples over the UK and brings dry conditions. Sunny periods develop widely but in the afternoon cloud builds from the west.
Further wet weather affects the north and west on Friday. Central and eastern regions remain dry and in sunny spells it will feel quite warm.
On Saturday heavy outbreaks of rain are expected to push northwards across central and eastern regions. Drier and brighter weather may return to much of the country during the afternoon. It will be mild generally and possibly quite warm across much of England and Wales.
The GFS forecast chart below shows temperatures pushing towards 21C (70F) in the Benelux countries and parts of France this Saturday. South eastern England is on the edge of the warmth.

Sunday probably brings further showery rain but also bright spells. It could be quite warm again.
