Halloween scene

The outlook remains quite changeable but in the south a good deal of dry weather is expected. During the second half of the week cooler air filters down from the northwest leading to some chilly nights.

Tuesday begins overcast in most of the UK with patchy outbreaks, some of which are heavy in the north. Through the rest of the day wet weather continue to affect northern regions. Southern and central regions should be mostly dry and some breaks in the cloud are likely.

Temperatures range from 12C (54F) to 15C (59F). See the rainfall radar for the latest view.

Tonight northern regions have patchy outbreaks of rain and in the north west they could be heavy at times. In the south it will be dry and quite cold. Decent conditions for Halloween in much of the country!

Tomorrow wet weather affects Scotland and possibly Northern Ireland. Elsewhere a mostly dry and quite mild day is expected but in the south there will be a lot of cloud.

Through the second half of the week cooler air spreads southwards and by the weekend showers turn wintry over the Scottish mountains. The south has a good deal of dry weather, although a period of heavy rain is expected to push eastwards during Friday night and Saturday morning. Night-time frosts are a risk, especially in the north.
