The weather remains changeable in the short term with the best of the drier periods in the south. Through the second half of the week there it may turn very windy and wet.
Sunday starts wet in Northern Ireland, Wales and western England. Through the day the rain steadily pushes eastwards but it becomes patchy. Nonetheless some heavy bursts continue in southern England and western Scotland. The east should remain dry until late in the afternoon. It will be windy with gales in exposed parts of the west.
Temperatures range from a chilly 12C (54F) in the wet areas to 21C (70F) in the east. Check the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight the persistent rain eases off but it remains overcast with drizzle at times.
Tomorrow further spells of wet weather affect Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere there will be a good deal of cloud but a few brighter spells are possible.
On Tuesday heavy rain moves across much of the north and west. In the south there could be some patchy spells of rain but some places remain dry and quite warm.
Wednesday looks mostly fine but there is a risk of a very autumnal pattern developing during the second half of the week. Buzz looks at the meteorological autumn.
