Fine in southern and central Britain

Southern and central regions have a fine weekend. In the north it will be cloudier and outbreaks of rain affect Scotland at times. Next week is expected to be mostly settled and in the south it becomes hot.

Saturday starts wet in much of Scotland. Elsewhere it is dry.

Through the day it remains fine in southern and central regions. Rain in much of Scotland eases this morning, but it could remain more persistent in the northwest. Other parts of the north have a lot of cloud and a few light showers. Windy in the north.

Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north west to 25C (77F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight further showers affect western Scotland and they may push into north western England. Other parts of the UK will be dry with clear periods.

Tomorrow it's a similar story. Outbreaks of rain continue to be a risk in northern and western Scotland, and there will be a lot of cloud in the north. Southern and central counties have warm sunny periods. Temperatures in the south could reach 27C (81F).

The heat is on!

Monday is expected to be mostly dry and sunny, although it could turn wet in the far north west. Generally warm and possibly very warm in the south where temperatures could reach 28C (82F).

Tuesday could see patchy rain in Scotland. The rest of the UK remains fine day and it will be very warm or hot in England and Wales.

Wednesday is looking fine. Warm in the north and hot in the south where temperatures may climb above 30C (86F).
