Showers develop more widely today and some could be heavy, especially in the south. It will be cooler than yesterday and through the early part of the coming week temperatures remain disappointing for the time of the year. However, there are signs of it warming up by the Platinum Jubilee holiday period.

Sunday starts with scattered showers but it is mainly dry. Through the day showers become more widespread, particularly in the east and south where some could be heavy. There will be sunny spells too, although in Scotland thicker cloud could bring some patchy outbreaks of rain.
Temperatures range from 9C (48F) in the far north to 18C (64F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight showery rain becomes focused on the northern half of the UK. Over the Scottish mountains they could be sleet or snow. Southern and central counties of Britain become dry.

Tomorrow brings sunny spells and heavy showers. Temperatures generally on the low side for the time of the year and in the north east it will be unseasonably cool.
The showery theme continues Tuesday. Temperatures remain below the norm for the end of May.
During Wednesday showers may increasingly become restricted to the north and east of Britain. In southern Britain temperatures may be a little higher than recently.
Showers continue to be a risk on Thursday, particularly in the north and east. In the south temperatures should continue to recover.
