Tonight showers fade away and clear periods develop for a time. Later on outbreaks of rain quickly move up from the southwest. By the morning they are expected to be affecting much of the UK, although the far north of England and Scotland probably stay dry. Winds strengthen and gales are likely in parts of the west.
