Sunny periods develop widely in southern and central regions through the day. In the north there will be more cloud, but the early rain in the north west should fade away.

Temperatures range from 8C (46F) to 12C (54F) in the afternoon.

Tomorrow thicker cloud could bring an odd spot of rain at times to central and possibly southern regions but it should be mostly dry. The brightest skies will probably be in the north east and in areas and to the south of London. After a chilly start it will be mild in the afternoon.

Change next week?

The meteorological spring begins on Monday and it will be a predominantly settled picture. In the afternoon sunshine it should feel quite warm.

Tuesday is expected to be a fine day in the northern half of the UK. In southern Britain there is a risk of showery spells of rain pushing up from the southwest later on. It stays mild.

The rather mild conditions continue on Wednesday. Later in the week there is a growing chance of it turning colder as high pressure builds northwards.
