The weather looks like being stuck in a rut for the next few days. The north and west of the UK have further spells of rain but the south and east will often be drier. Temperatures generally stay above the norm for the second half of February, especially in the south where there is the potential for it to be very mild at times.

Friday starts wet in much of the north and west. Elsewhere it's a mainly dry picture. Through the day outbreaks of heavy rain continue to affect western and northern areas. To the south and east there will be a good deal of dry weather but thicker cloud could bring drizzle or the odd spot of rain. Very windy with gales in the west and severe gales in exposed coastal locations in Wales and south west England.
Temperatures range from 8C (46F) in the north east to 12C (54F) in the south west.
Tonight the risk of rain continues in much of the country. The south east and northern Scotland remain drier. Mild.

Mild but will the cold return this month?
Tomorrow it stays wet in much of the north and west. Central and eastern areas should be mostly dry and some bright spells develop. Windy with gales in the west. Mild generally and in the south east temperatures could peak at close to 15C (59F).
During Sunday a band of rain becomes slow moving and for much of the day it stretches from the south west into Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. To its southeast it will be mainly dry and very mild. To the north and west brighter periods develop and temperatures won't be as high.
Early next week it remains unsettled in the north and west. Southern and eastern Britain could have quite a lot of dry periods and there is the potential for it to become exceptionally mild. Some computer models are suggesting values reaching 18C (64F).
