Cold conditions are set to last through the weekend. During Saturday central and northern regions have sunny spells and wintry showers. In the south there is a risk of longer spells of rain and on their northern edge it could be cold enough for some sleet or wet snow.

Sunday brings sunny spells but wintry showers could become quite widespread. There is the chance of a more organised band pushing across southern counties. Cold.

Monday is looking dry in much of the UK, but wintry showers are likely in northern and western areas. It remains quite cold.
