Mixed outlook

During Wednesday a band of rain pushes southeastwards and fragments. It probably reaches the London area during the afternoon. Bright and colder conditions follow it but showers develop in the north west. Over high ground they turn to sleet or snow.

Through the second half of the week rather unsettled weather is set to continue. All areas are expected to have showers or longer spells of rain. There is a risk of sleet or snow in the northern half of the UK and perhaps over high ground further south at times.
