The weather during the coming week will be chilly and changeable. Today and tomorrow bring a mix of sunny spells and showers. During the middle of the week there is a risk of more prolonged outbreaks of rain and hill snow for a time....READ IN FULL

Monday starts with cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain in the south. Elsewhere there are scattered showers but also a lot of dry weather. This morning it brightens up in the south leaving all regions with sunny spells. Showers continue and they could be wintry at times, especially in the north.  

Temperatures range from 5C (41F) in the north to 8C (46F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow all areas have sunny spells but there will be further showers. They will be most frequent in the west but during the afternoon some heavy ones could could affect eastern and south eastern counties. It remains chilly.

Mixed outlook

Forecast details for Wednesday are uncertain. An area of low pressure may bring longer spells of rain and hill snow to parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland probably stays drier and brighter.

Through the rest of the week changeable weather continues. Wet and windy spells are expected to be most frequent in the north where it could be cold enough for snow at times.
