Drier and warmer in the south

During Monday wet weather moves eastwards and some heavy bursts of rain are expected to be mixed in. In the north and west it turns brighter and showery. It will be cool for the time of year.

Tuesday should be fine in much of the country. The exception is the far north west where outbreaks of rain and gale force winds are likely.

Through the rest of the week a north to south split develops. Spells of wet and windy weather continue to affect the north. The south could see some rain too but there probably will be a good deal of dry and bright periods. It could also become quite warm in the south.
