Cool and changeable

Through Friday a band of showery rain moves southeastwards. To the north and west of it showers will be more scattered but there could be a few heavy ones mixed in. It remains windy and cool.

Saturday is looking dry in much of the country. Temperatures remain on the low side. It's a similar picture in the southern half of the country on Sunday. However in the north cloud builds and outbreaks of rain push in later in the day.

The cool and quite unsettled pattern continues early next week. Periods of wet and windy weather are expected in all regions.
