Showers follow into the south west and west where temperatures will be lower than recently. Eastern England may hang on to quite a lot of dry and warm weather through the day.

During Thursday heavy spells of rain move northwards. Some brighter intervals are likely too. In sunnier parts of eastern England and northern Scotland it could feel quite warm.
Through the rest of the week it remains unsettled. Heavy rain is expected at times and it could become windy with the possibility of gales in places. By the weekend it may be cold enough for showers to fall as sleet or snow over high ground in the north.
The changeable spell is forecast to continue next week. Temperatures fluctuate around the seasonal average.
