[Updated 08:30 06/12/2018]

Overcast weather

The weather remains unsettled during the next few days. All areas have wet and windy periods, and stormy conditions are expected in the north on Friday. Next week it looks set to turn colder for a time as high pressure builds over Scandinavia. However, it may not be long before low pressure areas in the the Atlantic are knocking on the door again...READ IN FULL

Mixed weekend then colder for a time

On Saturday showery outbreaks of rain affect much of the country and it remains windy. There will be dry periods too with the best of them in the east. The northern half of the UK will cold but in the south it remains quite mild.

Through Sunday morning showery rain clears away southeastwards. In the afternoon scattered showers push into the west and north but most places stay dry.

There continues to be uncertainty about next week's weather. High pressure is set to build over Scandinavia and influence the UK's weather. Colder air from the east is likely to push in for a time but recent computer models have shown weather fronts and milder air from the Atlantic returning quite quickly. There is the potential for it to become quite stormy later in the period.
