Saturday starts dry across the most of the UK but there is some patchy rain in western Scotland. The rest of the day brings warm sunny periods to central and eastern regions. In the west there could be more cloud at times and in the far north west the risk of rain continues.
Temperatures range from 13C (55F) in the north west to 21C (70F) or even a couple of degrees higher in much of England and Wales. See the rain radar for the latest view.
KNMI HIRLAM 00z, forecast temperatures, 16:00 BST Sat 5th May
Tonight most areas remain dry but in the far north west there will be further spells of rain. Clear spells allow temperatures to drop into single figures so despite the day's warmth it will feel chilly if you're sitting outside until late.
The summery weather continues on Sunday in southern and central regions but northern England could be cloudier. In Northern Ireland and western Scotland there is a risk of rain as an area of low pressure pushes weather fronts in from the Atlantic. Temperatures in the south should be slightly up on today's.
The May Day bank holiday is set to be sunny and very warm in the south. In the north a more iffy picture is likely and showery outbreaks of rain are possible. Temperatures in the south may not be far off 27C (81F) which would make it the hottest May Day on record.
GFS 00z, forecast pressure and precipitation, 16:00 BST Mon 7th May
Tuesday should be fine and very warm in central and eastern areas. In the north, and possibly west, it is expected to be cooler with showery rain.
Through the rest of the week it looks as though a changeable set-up gradually spreads southwards as a west or southwesterly flow returns from the Atlantic. Early on there should be a reasonable amount of dry weather in the south but by next weekend it could be quite cool in all regions with showers or longer spells of rain.
