[Updated 12:20 01/04/2018]

Easter Sunday starts with wintry showers in parts of the north and east but elsewhere it is dry. In Scotland clear skies overnight led to a sharp frost and in several locations temperatures fell to -7C (19F).

This morning showers continue in northern and eastern England but elsewhere it remains mostly dry. Thicker cloud will be spreading northeastwards and during the afternoon wet and windy weather returns to south western England.

It will be cold again. Maximum temperatures range from 3C (37F) in the north to 8C (46F) in the south. See the recently upgraded rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.

Tonight wet weather extends across much of England and Wales. In central and northern regions rain turns to snow and disruptive accumulations are likely in places, especially over high ground.

Wintry Easter Monday

Tomorrow heavy rain in southern and central regions slowly eases off. In much of the north there will be outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow but northern Scotland probably remains cold and dry until late in the afternoon.

Changeable conditions are shown throughout the 16 day period. After a cold start a wide temperature spread is shown indicating low forecast confidence but there is a weak signal for it to become less cold in the north and warmer in the south. View latest GEFS.
