All of the UK has wet weather at times in the coming days and by mid week it will be turning colder. The chilly theme is expected to last through the Easter period with snow most likely in the north.

Monday begins dry and there has been a frost in much of the UK. This morning sunny spells develop but in the west cloud builds. Through the afternoon wet and windy weather pushes east across Northern Ireland and into western Britain. Elsewhere it remains dry with the brightest conditions in the east.

Maximum temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north west to 13C (55F) in central and eastern England. See the recently upgraded rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight heavy outbreaks of rain spread eastwards and over the Scottish mountains they turn to snow. By the end of the night the rain eases in the west.
Tomorrow drier and brighter conditions return from the southwest but it remains wet in Scotland and there will be further hill snow. The south has quite a mild day but it will be cold in the north.

By Wednesday a rather cold and showery air stream covers all of the UK. In the north and west the showers turn wintry, and over northern hills there could be significant snowfall.
Through the second half of the week areas of low pressure remain close to southern Britain. That leads to a mixed Easter period with cool and changeable weather in the south and a risk of snow in the north. This chart below from this morning's GFS 00z run is for 19:00 BST on Good Friday.

Ensemble models which are used to identify the likelihood of different outcomes also suggest a rather cold and unsettled Easter period.
