Outbreaks of rain and snow in northern England clear from the west this morning to leave sunny spells and scattered showers. The outlook remains unsettled with all regions having wet weather.

Thursday starts wet in northern Wales as well as eastern and northern England. In northern England a lot of the precipitation is falling as wet snow and accumulating so some travel disruption is likely.
This morning the rain and snow pushes eastwards with brighter and showery conditions following on from the west. During the afternoon sunny spells develop widely but scattered showers pop-up and in Scotland they are expected to be wintry.

Temperatures range from 5C (41F) in Scotland to 11C (52F) in the south. See the rainfall and precipitation type radar for the latest view.
Tonight wintry showers continue in Scotland but elsewhere it becomes mostly dry and a frost forms. Later on cloud builds in southern and central counties.
Tomorrow outbreaks of rain push spread southern and central regions. The north has a mostly dry with sunny spells. Temperatures will be similar to today's values.
Through Saturday bands of heavy rain spread northwards and there will be further snow over the Scottish mountains. Southern and central regions become quite mild but it remains chilly in the north.

Sunday should bring dry conditions for much of the day but by early evening another batch of rain pushes into the southwest.
Unsettled sums sums things up and in places flooding could become an issue. Several recent computer model runs have shown high pressure building to the north of the UK and that could lead to colder conditions later in the month. At the moment that isn't considered the most probable outcome but it is something to keep an eye on.
