The outlook is mixed. High pressure will bring dry periods but all regions have wet and windy conditions at times.
Friday starts fine and locally there has been a touch of ground frost. Sunny spells develop this morning but cloud builds in the west. During the afternoon outbreaks of rain move into the far north west of the UK. Elsewhere it remains dry but it will become cloudier.
It will be quite cool with temperatures this afternoon ranging from 9C (48F) in the north to 15C (59F) in the south. See the rainfall radar for the latest view.
Tonight wet and windy weather spreads southeastwards. The rain becomes increasingly intermittent but in the north west further showery outbreaks develop later.
Tomorrow morning patchy outbreaks of rain are likely in much of the country. During the afternoon dry and bright spells develop in central and northern regions but the south probably remains damp. Sunday should be mostly fine.
Early next week further spells of wet weather affect the north and west. The south and east should generally be drier, although some rain is possible.
