High pressure is on course for much of the period, bringing generally settled conditions. Much of the period looks relatively dry.
A sharp change in daytime temperatures is forecast later on, around Saturday 15th August, with overnight temperatures also shifting significantly later on, around Thursday 20th August, and the overall trend is for temperatures to fall both day and night through the period.
Very hot conditions are predicted on at times, with highs reaching into the mid 30s. The hottest conditions are expected on Thursday 13 August, when temperatures may reach 39°C. The coolest night looks set to develop on Saturday 22 August, with lows around 7°C. There is a notable spread between the highest and lowest temperatures, so conditions will vary considerably.
