On the website charts and data from a wide range of computer models are available. However, the latest addition, the UKV, is a very special one. It is run by the UK Met Office at a resolution of approximately 0.018 degrees (2km). Therefore, it provides a very high and localised level of detail which makes it an excellent short range forecasting tool.
The model is run every hour, with varying forecast length. On TheWeatherOutlook charts from the 03z UTC and 15z UTC updates can be viewed. Both runs are stepped at an hourly interval from 0 to 54 hours and three hourly intervals from 57 to 120 hours.
Initially the following charts are available:
1.5m maximum temperature
1.5m minimum temperature
Precipitation rate
Cloud cover
Mean surface level pressure
Wind gust speed
Wind mean speed
More charts and data tools will be added in the near future.
The example charts below show maximum temperatures, precipitation and cloud cover.
