The coming week is looking very mixed. Southern and eastern Britain have a good deal of dry weather, but it will be very wet in the north west as Atlantic disturbances become slow moving. Temperatures generally stay above the average and during the middle part of the week it becomes quite warm in southern and central regions.

Monday starts with showers in the west and near to the south coast. Elsewhere it is mainly dry.
Through the day showers push eastwards and at times they will be heavy. However, some places miss them and remain dry. Sunny spells develop widely, but it will be blustery, especially in the north.
Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in Scotland to 16C (61F) in the south east. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.
Tonight showers fade away. Later on more persistent spells of rain push across Northern Ireland and into much of north western Britain. Elsewhere it should be dry.

Tomorrow morning persistent outbreaks of rain in the northern half of the UK clear eastwards. However, another area of rain pushes into western and northern Scotland. Elsewhere it is expected to be overcast and although a few spots of rain are possible, it should be mostly dry. Very windy in the north with a widespread risk of gales. Quite mild.
During Wednesday a band of rain slowly pushes southeastwards. By the late afternoon it will probably be stretching from the south west, up through Wales and into northern England. Areas to its south and east stay mild and dry. To its northwest showers are likely. Generally mild.
Through the rest of the week the weather remains changeable. Further spells of rain are likely, particularly in the north and west. The south and east probably have a reasonable amount of dry periods. It remains quite mild.
