[Updated 08:40 25/07/2021]

Evening sun and clouds. Posted by brian gaze

Thundery downpours continue to be a risk in the south today. Areas to the north and west stay dry, bright and warm. The coming week is looking very mixed. After a warm and showery start it turns cooler and there is an ongoing possibility of wet weather.

Changeable outlook

During Tuesday heavy showers push eastwards and at times they may merge to produce longer spells of rain. Brighter conditions return to the west in the afternoon. Feeling much cooler in the west.

Wednesday is looking cool across the UK. England, Wales and Northern Ireland have a mix of sunny spells and showers. More prolonged spells of rain are likely to affect Scotland.

Changeable weather continues through the rest of the week. All regions could have showers or more prolonged outbreaks of rain. In sunny spells it feels pleasantly warm, but temperatures generally will be a little below the average.
