Weather forecast discussion

Bank holiday Monday starts with heavy showers in northern Britain. Elsewhere it is mostly dry with variable amounts of cloud.

Through the day heavy and thundery bursts of rain affect the south east, with the northern extent of the rain close to London. There will also be scattered showers in the rest of the UK, particularly Scotland where they could be heavy. The driest and warmest conditions will probably be in central England.

Temperatures range from 12°C to 20°C, with values mainly dependent on the amount of cloud cover and sunshine. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight the rain in the south east steadily fades away, along with showers in other areas. By the morning it will be mostly dry.

Tomorrow, scattered showers return, but many places miss them and remain dry with variable amounts of cloud. It will become quite warm in sunny spells.

Settled and rather warm

Wednesday is forecast to be dry, sunny and rather warm in most areas. The exception is the north west where there is a risk of patchy outbreaks of rain. Temperatures reach the low 20Cs in the south.

The settled conditions continue on Thursday in much of the UK. However, there is a risk of rain in northern and western Scotland.

During Friday a few heavy showers could break out. Nonetheless, most places have another dry day with sunny periods. It could be the warmest day of the year so far with temperatures peaking in the mid 20Cs.
