The weather remains changeable through the coming days with further showers or longer spells of rain at times. Nonetheless, in sunny spells it will be notably warmer than recently, with temperatures climbing into the low 20Cs. Forecast details for the bank holiday weekend remain uncertain, but on the whole it looks mixed. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and contribute to its ongoing development, explore the payment options, see below)

Tonight it steadily becomes drier in the west, but even by the morning there could still be a few showers in western Scotland. There is also a likelihood of showers pushing northwards over eastern England.

Tomorrow heavy showery bursts of rain are expected to develop in parts of southern and central England. There will also be a scattering of showers in Scotland, but in much of the rest of the UK it stays dry. Warm in sunny spells.

Temperatures climbing

Thursday will be dry in the north. In the south there is a risk of showers or longer spells of rain, but there should be some dry and bright periods too. In sunny areas it will be quite warm.

The mixed picture continues on Friday. Low pressure is forecast to be centred over the North Sea, and it brings a risk of showers to southern and central regions. In the north it probably remains dry and bright.

The bank holiday weekend starts on Saturday with the likelihood of further showers or longer spells of rain in places. It is still too early to pin down the details.
