The weather remains mixed this week with further showers or longer spells of rain affecting much of the UK. However, temperatures will be climbing and at times it becomes warm. Monday starts dry and cold in most of Britain. In Northern Ireland there are outbreaks of rain.

Through the day, showery outbreaks of rain slowly push northwards and westwards. Some heavy bursts of rain are likely, particularly in western Scotland. Central and eastern counties of England remain dry and bright.

Temperatures range from 8°C in the north west to 16°C in the east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight further heavy bursts of rain push northwards over western Britain and Northern Ireland. By the morning the rain's northern extent is likely to reach the Scottish borders. Other areas remain mostly dry and it will be a lot milder than recent nights.

Tomorrow it's a similar picture. Central and eastern Britain has a dry day with variable amounts of cloud. In sunny spells it will become quite warm. In the west showers or longer spells of rain continue to be a risk.

Temperatures climbing

Wednesday is expected to be quite warm. There is a risk of heavy and thundery showers in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland should be mostly dry.

Thursday will probably be dry in the north. In the south there is a risk of showers or longer spells of rain. In sunny areas it is likely to be warm. 

Forecasts details for Friday are uncertain. Showers are most likely in southern and central regions. In the north it probably remains dry and bright.
