Had to look that up! For others who might not have known, "/s" means "sarcasm".

I think they mean that within a 24 hour period, anywhere in the area could see rainfall rates of an inch an hour, not that they'll get that for 24 hours solid.

The precip chart (from the GFS) shows 5 or 6 inches as the absolute max, although even that is pretty noteworthy!

The cold weather is celebrating the Chinese New Year - in China, of course.

Some 255 cities across the country have seen days when average daily temperatures fall below 0C, far exceeding the conditions of previous years.

Nothing unusual but worth noting that it was 13 it 14c in NYC few days ago and now there could be a major winter storm and up to 8" of snow in NYC by tomorrow afternoon.

I guess this could blast up the jet and bring us more wet and windy weather.

Dallas hit 94f yesterday, which was the third-hottest February day on record and the seventh-earliest 90-degree day.

16 states in the USA could see record-high temperatures today, with expectations they'll be 20 to 40 degrees above average.

94C! Wow, that smashes the world record by about 40C . Now I know they are not exaggerating when they say it's been boiling hot.
