Very unseasonal cool over Cyprus to cold over the mountains very early this year.   This time of the year 33-35C are often in first half of October then often after 25th it drop to mid 20's but it already now mid 20s in Nicosia and Troodos a bit colder than UK October average which is very early this year.  Cyprus as whole got more rain amount than here due to proper heavy rain they get.  Tried to figure out where this cool air mass coming from so went to Kita weather page I think i see a flow from E Russia/Siberia to the  E Med bypassing the warmer central Europe to deliver well below maxes for prolongerd periods.  Tourists this week and recent days cannot enjoy their wet holidays.

I spoke to Kita that if ths was in January with this set up Nicosia will see 4-7c maxes for 2 weeks and ample of snow in Troodos up to 2 to 3m deep.

Not unusual weather per se, but a really interesting read about Hong Kong’s rapidly changing climate. Having lived in mainland China and Hong Kong for 8 years, the points in this article certainly ring true. When we moved to the mainland, just north of Hong Kong, Octobers were definitely transition months, with relatively cooler weather. Now they feel like an extension of summer. I would like to see a similar article for the change in winter weather in Hong Kong. I bet they are much milder.

Coastal areas were mainly dry from Tuesday but it took until Friday for the mountains to clear up. I heard locals saying it had been unusually wet recently. Max temperatures by day were generally between 26 and 29C on the coast so it felt lovely by day. Evenings were a bit cool to start with but it got warmer later in the week.

It is looking like more rain is on the way this week, even for Paphos.

If you notice that Cyprus when it rain it get very good amount of rain, lower temperatures and thunderstorms under LOWER 850's uppers, they don't have fake high 850's with rain there but here does that why it only give us drizzle instead.  I have a strong belief that only drought to end is sufficent heavy rain, thunderstorms and lower surface and 850's temperatures.  Every fake I had here since September was all drizzle fest, which does not help but just wet the ground surface.  no flow to the rivers or dams.
