But surely they are lower in many of the devolved regions so why would they make them stricter than England?

According to the latest stats, Scotland and Wales have a higher infection rate per capita than England at the moment (especially Wales).

Northern Ireland is doing best, so I am not sure why they are holding back.

New world order coming.

There is a spelling/typo mistake.

Yes, and the last three months shows us it will be an epidemic again if we relax too many measures.  But by all means imply this is all a fuss over nothing as you usually do.

edit: Just said we are currently getting "billions of pieces of PPE to where they are needed". Billions? Honestly?

TBH I have turned it over and watching Tipping Point. Been doing that for a while with updates and announcements as you get the important headlines later. Better for the mental wellbeing having a break from this surreal nightmare.

Fair comment then for Scotland but surely he should have consulted?

four probably thinks that something like 30-50% of our population has been infected, so we are very close to immunity, which will be eternal and will protect us from all future pathogens too.

Interestingly it includes this nugget:

Separate work at the Government's Porton Down laboratories to find out how many people have had the virus and recovered is ongoing.

While cases have gone down a lot there are still pockets of infections persisting.

Too early to start lifting the lockdown IMO. Certainly, I think everyone should err on the side of caution.

If you look at the graph of estimated number of infections, you can see that for the first time since 1st April, the total ticked up when comparing today with yesterday.

Maybe it's just an anomaly (I also notice that the number of contributors has suddenly surged from about 3 million to 3.5 million in a day, so that might have an effect), but the pessimist might say that it's the onset of symptoms after VE Day.

My Zoe app says 240,000 from 3 million members. But both falling and not as distant as they seem in the scope of all of the stats.

I'm afraid not. It said either from your household or one other. This is a lot clearer than some are saying

Hopefully a blip as yesterday dropped slightly faster than previous days. A correction maybe. Two days would be too soon for VE Day to show I would have thought.

You posted a link earlier today to an article suggesting test results are still taking an age to come back. I appreciate the calculation but it's meaningless given our testing structure?
