Agree cant see it going below 16.0 and may well be close to 16.2.

As I implied a few days ago, the warmer nights have kept the CET up. The days have been slightly warmer in the CET zone than expected too, especially in the south. Another muggy night forecast tonight. Unlikely to not top 16 now unless the last few days have CET values below 13C I think. And I think not.

Not sure I entirely agree with the comments above. The CET is going to dip quite a bit in the next three days.

My current estimate is for the CET to finish at 15.99C. So similar to what I have been expecting over the past several days. So we probably will just get to 16.0C but I think it will be touch and go.

An interesting last stretch, I agree. If Artzeman's report is not adjusted much, a 16.4 provisional to 27th of 16.4 means, for a 16.1, we would require a .3 drop over the final 3 days of 30, in other words 10% of the timescale, meaning to drop by .3C would require a 3C drop over the last 3 days. Thus, we'd need 13.4 for the last 3 days to end on 16.1. For a 16.0, a 4C drop (so 12.4). I can't see anything in the short term models that suggests that at the moment, although the temperatures will be (and have been ) lower from here on. My prediction before 'adjustments' - now 16.05. Perhaps I should coil my neck back in?

It certainly doesn't look like we'll beat 1976 but a 16c + is still possible providing there is no great downward adjustment.  I think it's been said before that there is an extra minimum value to include at the end of the month.

Yesterday's mean will drag it down but then there is a slight recovery according to the forecast, so perhaps not such a drop in the final two days. The Hadley figure only shows to one decimal point so we don't know how close to another fall it is.  I like these touch and go endings!

June 2003 was the warmest June of recent times with a CET of 16.1C, so it's probably 50:50 as to whether we will beat this or not. Either way it is looking like either the warmest June since 1976 or 2003, depending on the final figure.

Locally the mean is a mightily impressive 17.4c and is likely to finish somewhere in the region of 17.3.  The warmest June, possibly on record locally. I expect the final figure for the official June CET to be something like 15.95.  Most times the actual figure seems to get adjusted downwards...we shall see quite soon.

Looks like my estimate of 14.3 this month is going to be a bit too low

I need today's CET to be minus 41C to be spot on otherwise I think my 15 minutes of fame is about to come to a close tomorrow

May still have one leg on the knife-edge but looking safe for 16 to begin with. However, Hadley adjustments can spoil the party.

It looks as though my 16.2c prediction isn't going to end up not too far off.

Yes Steve, ditto. Its simply a matter of damage limitation here, and rueing some awful "heart over methodology" decisions earlier in the year

If that figure is finalised, I don't feel too bad about my 1/100th of a degree error from 28 June.

Well done PW.

I'm fairly happy with that.

I've been plugging away in this competition for over 7 years now and I am still yet to ever win an individual month.
