These Subscription Terms apply to paid premium subscriptions to The Weather Outlook (theweatheroutlook.com) and are in addition to our general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By subscribing you agree to these terms.
A premium subscription removes adverts and unlocks the premium features described on our subscription page at the time you subscribe. The specific features available may change over time – new features may be added and included automatically, and existing features may be modified, replaced, or withdrawn (see clause 4).
We offer:
Our premium features include charts, model output, and derived products based on numerical weather prediction (NWP) data. You acknowledge and accept the following:
2.1 Third-party data. Much of the data underlying our premium features originates from external forecasting centres and providers (which may include, for example, ECMWF, the UK Met Office, NOAA, the Meteorological Service of Canada, and others). We do not generate this source data and do not control its production, timing, quality, or continued availability.
2.2 Best-endeavours basis. Premium data and features are provided on a reasonable-endeavours basis. Source data feeds may be delayed, incomplete, degraded, interrupted, or temporarily or permanently unavailable for reasons outside our control – including changes to the source provider’s systems, licensing, access arrangements, or data policies. Accordingly:
2.3 Forecasts are not guaranteed. Weather forecasts and model data are inherently uncertain and are provided for general information and interest only. They must not be relied upon for safety-critical, operational, commercial, financial, or other decisions where inaccuracy could cause loss or harm. You use forecasts and data at your own risk.
We aim to keep the website and premium features available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, hosting or connectivity problems, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. A subscription does not guarantee any particular level of uptime, and short or occasional interruptions do not entitle you to a refund.
Because our premium features depend substantially on external data and on ongoing development, we may add, change, or remove features from time to time. We will not reduce the core benefit of a subscription (advert-free browsing) during a period you have paid for, but the specific premium features included may vary as described in clauses 1 and 2.
5.1 Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
5.2 Monthly Premium is charged monthly in advance and renews automatically until you cancel. You authorise us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method for each renewal until cancellation.
5.3 12-Month Premium is a single upfront payment. It does not renew automatically.
5.4 Price changes. We may change subscription prices. For monthly subscribers, we will notify you at least 30 days before any price change takes effect, so you can decide whether to continue. The price for a 12-month purchase is the price in effect at the time of that purchase and is not affected by later changes.
6.1 Monthly Premium. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal (the “Manage billing” option in your account). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period – you keep access until then, and are not charged again. We do not provide partial refunds for the remainder of a billing period.
6.2 12-Month Premium. This is a single payment for a fixed period and does not renew. Subject to clause 6.3 and to the refund promise in 6.5, it is non-refundable once the access period has begun.
6.3 Statutory cancellation right (cooling-off). Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers buying digital services online generally have a 14-day right to cancel for a refund. Nothing in these terms (including the 7-day refund promise in 6.5) reduces or removes that statutory right. However, because premium access begins immediately on payment, by subscribing you expressly consent to the service starting immediately and acknowledge that your right to a full refund may be reduced once access has begun.
6.4 Existing supporters. If you hold advert-free access from a previous manual donation, that access continues under its original terms and is unaffected by these subscription terms.
6.5 Our refund promise for new subscribers. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days; as premium access starts immediately, by subscribing you ask us to begin the service at once and acknowledge that your right to a full refund may be reduced once access has begun.
You are responsible for keeping your account details secure. Premium access is tied to your account.
Subscriptions are for personal use only. Account sharing is limited to members of your own household. Sharing your account or access credentials beyond your household is not permitted and may result in suspension or termination of your account. We may suspend or withdraw access in the event of misuse, fraud, or breach of these terms or our general Terms of Use.
Premium features are accessed via the website. Some features have minimum technical requirements – a reasonably modern web browser, and in some cases a larger screen for the more detailed charts and tools. An internet connection is required for most features. We are not responsible for features being unavailable due to your device, browser, or connection.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, and given the informational nature of the service and the third-party, best-endeavours nature of the data (clause 2), our liability arising from the premium service is limited to the amount you paid for your current subscription period. We are not liable for decisions made in reliance on forecasts or data.
We may update these Subscription Terms from time to time. Material changes affecting existing subscribers will be notified to them.
