I think I'm becoming a mildie! Not unexpected thanks to the poor 'cold' spells this year and the lack of meaningful snow even here!

I know how you feel! The prospect of snow doesn't interest me at all right now - and I'm happy to go outside without feeling like my skin is about to crack and fall off. No nuisance wind, either.

Temperature of 13C+ in those light winds feels great. Sunshine is bright like March. Read a book in the garden in a vest- felt the prickly warmth of the sun.

Temps pay be a little higher, but otherwise the only difference here compared with last weekend is that last Saturday was sunnier!

A max of 8.7c at Pershore - despite GFS predicting 11c ......    This "heat wave" is only just over 4c warmer than last week's "cold spell"

Meanwhile, it reached 14C here with some very pleasant afternoon sunshine. The BBC were pretty far off the mark.

Nothing unusual really, given such temps occur in winter pretty much every year, but it's pleasant nevertheless.

I'm going for 16C on Monday.

To be fair, it did just clip 10c in my garden, so not far off the mark.  Just felt colder under the cloud when I looked out from work.  Skies cleared for sunset though

An effortless 13.4c here at the moment.

The switch to Spring down here after mid February is so apparent these days. ☺

Overcast here so it's "only" 11C. Still it feels pretty decent for mid-late February though.

Several 13s today though surprisingly no 14s, I think because of the disappointing lack of sun. Still 1-2C above the GFS maxes despite the cloud.

Tomorrow is a different matter. There are plentiful 16s on the map and do I spot a lone 18C over London??

While it'll be an unusually mild day over the Southern half of the UK tomorrow, I think cloud cover will prevent February record levels being breached. However, the maxes of 13 C to 16 C will get to feel "balmy" under the cloud cover all the same, especially after overnight drizzle does clear away in the morning.

I'm going for 19C (rounded) to be hit somewhere in the UK today. GFS, MRF, Arome etc all forecasting maxes 4-5C above today's.

Given 18 places hit 13 today, 1 hit 14 (Aboyne, I'm assuming with some Foehn help), tomorrow's airmass is 4-5C warmer at 850hpa than today's and there look like being good breaks in the cloud in the middle of the day in the SE, I'll say 19C in one of Charlwood, Bournemouth, Exeter or St James park.

Ignoring rounding I see six stations that reached or exceeded 13°C today (with Aboyne highest at 13.8). If I had to guess I would go for a max of c. 17.5°C tomorrow, somewhere in E Anglia.

The truth may well end up between the two. If we do manage 18.5C or thereabouts that will be just over a degree cooler than the record. Given this is a WNW flow, it's only the 20th Feb and it will be quite cloudy, it tells me the February record is one of the more beatable ones in the next few years if we get the right Synoptics.

The only difference between today and the last few months is the temp being some several degrees warmer, however the same grey laden drizzly skies that've persisted throughout the last few months continue unabated.

Given the misty overcast dull weather at the moment where it's 9.5 C at 8.30 am, it's going to have to take some going to achieve even average mild values at this end, never mind getting close to record breaking levels. Mind you, this is the Kent south coast subject to the chilling Strait of Dover anyway.

Actually it's been unusually sunny. E&W sunshine:

Nov 2016: 124% of average

Dec 2016: 118%

Jan 2017: 127%

Sun threatening to come out here after this morning's drizzle. It could actually be a milder day than expected if it does.
