No report on the front page but if you click on the "Estimated Data" link at

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/cet_info_mean.html

and use a text editor like Notepad or Wordpad, they have carried on updating this file "internally"

The Met Office data up to 26/1/17 is 4.42C Anomaly +0.68C

It has probably reached as low as it will go here for this month, and just for comparison to the CET I am at 2.69°c currently, that against the 81-10 mean of 5.45°c.

The provisional Hadley figure so far this month is utter rubbish. So no point even looking at it. I currently estimate the CET to be at 3.61C. A very warm end to the month for the final couple of days is expected.

This means the final figure is currently estimated by my calculations to be 3.93C. So something close to 4C seems about right which is a little below average.

Hadley still not updating very unusual to go this long without an update
CET.

Do our February CET estimates follow on and go in this thread? A little early but just wondered.

As has been said several times already, Hadley is updating at the following link

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/cet_mean_est_2017

Currently 4.32C to the 28th which as I say above will be significantly adjusted downwards in the final official figures.

Quite an adjustment down in the predicted temps from GFS this evening; as a very rough estimate, the CET return has dropped from around 6*C to near 4.5*C for Monday, and from around 8.5*C to near 7*C for Tuesday.

All due to a small low moving east of us on Monday closing off sooner, introducing more of a N flow for a time which delays and moderates the incoming wedge of very mild air.

If that comes to pass, the end-of-month uptick is going to be less dramatic and the finish could be near 3.7*C perhaps? Alas, I've not got the time to look into this more scientifically.

I must admit, I had been thinking any chance of being within 0.5*C of the CET this month was totally shot until that 12z came along.

If it stays around that figure, I won't be too disappointed - at one point this month I thought I'd be over 1c out.

If my current estimate of the CET is close to the final official figure then your estimate of 3.8C will be right on the money.
