It was, the forecast changed dramatically. It did move 50 or so miles west, but instead of continuing it has now turned east. We did know 24 hours in advance that it would do this but only 24 hours in advance. The models handle medicanes very badly. Low resolution models don't even resolve them, and even WRF had the track wrong until less than 24 hours out!

Its a real pity that the strong sheering began just before the sun came up, otherwise there would be some great visible images.

As it is, this is the best I can do.

Note how Trixie is being pulled apart now with most convection to the NW. I suspect by early afternoon she will have begun the transition to a non-tropical based system.

Just checked the IR sat; confident that the transition is now complete. All tropical characturistics have been lost, Trixie is now a normal depression.

Well it was a fun ride while it lasted!
