I don't think it has been that bad here this summer.
Plenty of dry weekends.
Yesterday was a lovely day. :-)
Maybe it's just my perception!
In June/July we struck lucky in terms of the best weather of the week hitting at weekends, and there was that nice spell late June/first half July. But the last 3 weeks have been really poor.
Yesterday afternoon/evening/night was just horrendous, rain that veered between moderate and heavy all through - I . We had friends over for a BBQ and we have a fairly big wooden gazebo with felt-tile roof that I built, and there's a 10x10 pop-up gazebo over the hot tub thing, so we were all outside and dry - but it was cold. Late on after everyone had gone and the kids were in bed, I was sat under my gazebo and it was pelting it down. I had a fleece on, sipping lager and having a smoke and the rain hammering down was so relaxing - but that's the only positive.
A really awful spell of weather - and more crap to come; this Wednesday has a high forecast of just 15c.
Next weekend had been showing as the start of an improvement, and we're due to go to Alton Towers Waterpark on Monday 14th, which was looking good (it's both inside & out) but that's now looking questionable.
The UK has the worst climate in the world. Misses out on summer dry/heat/sun. Misses out on winter cold/snow.
