Anyone remember these days? The best resource was hourly radar from the MetO site (updated about 15 minutes after the hour):
In terms of lightning detection, forget it. The blitzortung websites relied on dodgy triangulation data (the IOW Lightning site was trumpeted by many, but it was hopeless). You kids these days, you don't know you're born... etc. etc.
EDIT: in fact for strikes, the only reliable source was meteocentre.com ... none on this grab, but the "irons" are there:
